Tharpa Chö Ling is located about ten minutes outside the small town of Upper Lake in Lake County, California. It’s north of Clear Lake and east of Ukiah, an easy two to two-and-a-half hour drive from the San Francisco Bay area by way of Highway 101.
The area is historically agricultural. The quaint, one-street town of Upper Lake is equipped with hotels, restaurants, shops, and a gas station, and is only a 20 minute drive to the Lake County seat of Lakeport.
Tharpa Chö Ling is a new project for Ewam Choden, and it is still under development. Currently, only Ewam Choden members are using it. People who are interested in visiting or in the possibility of doing a retreat there should contact Lama Kunga Rinpoche.
