In 1980, he received the Acharya degree from the Tibetan Institute at Varanasi where was recognized for academic achievement by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He is currently the Buddhist chaplain at Harvard university, and the director of the Sakya Institute of Buddhist Studies in Cambridge, MA, and of the Sakya Retreat Center in Barre, MA.<br \/>\nLama Migmar previously taught on Abhidharma at Ewam Choden.
