Lama Kunga Rinpoche will kindly bestow the Empowerment of Amitabha Buddha. This will be followed by instruction on the practice of PHOWA, the intentional transference of consciousness at the time of death.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Empowerment of Amitabha Buddha is at 10:00 am.\u00a0<\/span> Please arrive early to register.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>LUNCH break&#8211;11:30 am to 1:30 pm<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Phowa Teaching is from 1:30 pm to about 3:30 pm.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:\u00a0 Everyone is welcome.\u00a0 You may receive the Empowerment alone (and not the Phowa Teaching), but attending the Phowa Teaching requires the Empowerment. No exceptions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Requested Donation:\u00a0 $30 for the Empowerment OR $60 for the entire day.\u00a0 Dana (offering to the Lama) is separate.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Amitabha, (Tibetan&#8211;\u0f60\u0f7c\u0f51\u0f0b\u0f51\u0f54\u0f42\u0f0b\u0f58\u0f7a\u0f51, \u00d6-pa-me), is the Buddha of Infinite Radiant Light. He resides in Dewachen, \u0f56\u0f51\u0f7a\u0f0b\u0f56\u0f0b\u0f45\u0f53\u0f0d (Sanskrit-Sukhavati), the Blissful Pure Land.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Phowa (\u0f60\u0f55\u0f7c\u0f0b\u0f56)\u00a0 is a method of practice at the time of death to ensure that a person&#8217;s consciousness leaves the body through the crown and transfers into a Buddha-field.\u00a0 This teaching aims for Amitabha&#8217;s Pure Land.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our lives are short. The time of death is uncertain.
