PRAYERS FOR ELIMINATING EPIDEMICS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following information gives you dharma practices to help alleviate the sufferings of people and to subdue the virus epidemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(1) “The Prayer that Saved Sakya” transmission from His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche can be seen here<\/a>. After receiving this transmission, you are encouraged to recite this prayer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prayer that Saved Sakya from Epidemics\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lamas, tutelary deities, buddhas, and bodhisattvas,
\nAll objects of refuge in general, and especially the greatly compassionate\nGoddess dressed in leaves (Par\u1e47a\u015babar\u012b) and her encircling retinue,\nProtect all beings from illness, negativity, and misfortune!\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May all the ailments which oppress the minds of beings,
\nThe attacks of diseases, negative forces, elemental spirits and the like,\nArising from karma and immediate circumstances
\nNever occur anywhere in the universe.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May all the painful sicknesses which snatch life away,\nSeparating mind and body in a single instant\nLike an executioner dragging away his victim,\nNever occur anywhere in the universe.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May epidemics, temporary or chronic,
\nThe mere sound of whose name engenders fear\nLike falling into the jaws of Yama, lord of death,\nNever harm any being.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May the eighty-thousand types of harmful obstacles,\nThe three-hundred-sixty sudden dangers from evil spirits,\nThe four-hundred-four types of disease and other ills,\nNever strike any being.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May all sufferings due to disturbances of the four elements,\nWhich plunder the well-being of body and mind be pacified;\nMay we have radiance, strength,
\nHealth and happiness, and a long life free from sickness.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the compassion of the Teachers and Three Jewels,\nThe ability and might of the dakinis and Dharma protectors,\nAnd the power of the unfailing law of cause and effect,\nMay all our dedications and wishes be fulfilled.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(2)<\/strong> You may recite the following—Parna\u015bavari is a powerful mantra used for subduing epidemics. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goddess Par\u1e47a\u015bavar\u012b (or Par\u1e47a\u015babar\u012b), who is known in Tibetan as Loma Gy\u00f6nma (lo ma gyon ma) or ‘Leaf-Clad’ is particularly associated with the healing of contagious disease.
