Lama Jampa will expound on the Seven Points of Mind Training using Thogme Zangpo’s commentary. This system of meditation practice – known as lobjong in Tibetan – is one of the most popular and widely-practised in Buddhism. Codified by the 12th century master, Geshe Chekawa, it contains the Mahayana methods for transforming ordinary consciousness into the mind of enlightenment. At its heart is the practice of ‘Sending and Taking’, which is often referred to as, ‘the secret teaching of the Great Vehicle’.

This teaching is of great interest and benefit for any one interested in Buddhist philosophy, beginners and non-beginners alike, practitioners and scholars.

“I would like to commend Lama Jampa Thaye for the unflagging enthusiasm and effort
that he has devoted to the noble cause of making the dharma available to all those who have an interest in it,
and encourage him to continue his good works.”
H.H. Sakya Trizin

Passing of a dear friend of EC

January 21, 2012 by

It is with great sadness that Ewam Choden announces the passing of Wolfgang Saumweber.
Wolf succumbed to cancer this morning January 21st.

Wolf was a student of Lama Kunga Rinpoche and a great friend and supporter of our community. A dedicated dharma practitioner, he particularly benefited our Center by working with Lama Kunga Rinpoche on the editing of sadhanas. His elaborate and colorful layouts are now the standard for EC sadhanas.

Wolf also created and maintained Ewam Choden’s first website and generously established numerous Vajrayana websites

Wolfgang will be greatly missed.

We ask for your prayers to assist him during this transition, and may all the great works he performed bring benefit to him,  his wife Linda, and his family.

His Holiness Dalai Lama with Wolf
