Lama Kunga Thartse Rinpoche will kindly bestow the empowerment of Miyowa (in Sanskrit, Achala) at Ewam Choden on Sunday, January 27th.  The starting time is 1:00 p.m.  Miyowa, the Immovable One, is a wrathful protector who helps the practitioner remove all outer and inner obstacles.
Please arrive early in order to register, and as usual, be considerate of our neighbors when parking.  This event is open to anyone. The requested donation is $30.   Dana (offering) to the Lama is separate.

HEVAJRA Practice at Ewam Choden (prerequisites) The First Sunday of the month

There are now monthly group practices of the long sadhana of Hevajra in the shrine room at Ewam Choden. These are the first Sundays of each month. The next Hevajra practice session is Sunday, February 3rd at 11:30 AM after meditation.  PLEASE NOTE:   This practice is restricted to people who have received the Hevajra Path empowerment given at the LamDre teachings. People who have had the Hevajra cause and path initiations in the Sakya tradition are eligible to (and urged to) attend. We will practice the sadhana that says ” middle length practice”  on the cover and is usually referred to as the long practice.

Sad News — The passing of Tashi, the E.C. Bodhi-Cat

With sadness, we inform you that the beautiful and devoted white cat who lived with Lama Kunga Rinpoche, has passed on.  He was apparently the victim of a motorist as his body was found in the middle of Cambridge Street, not far from home.  In addition to his own outdoor adventures, Tashi frequently attended meditations, empowerments, and tsoks in the shrine room. He was loved by everyone and shared his affection in return. We pray for his quick rebirth in the human realm where he can meet gurus and continue on the Bodhisattva path.

Pray for Compassion, Peace & Prosperity on NEW YEAR’S EVE at Ewam Choden

CHANGED–You are invited to Ewam Choden on New Year’s eve, Monday, December 31st at 11:00 p.m. Ven. Kunyer-la (one of Lama Kunga’s attendants, aka Anthony) will preside since Rinpoche will be out of town.  There will be some meditation and recitation of auspicious prayers to ring in 2013, and snacks will be served.

Completed GREEN TARA EMPOWERMENT on Sunday, December 16th, at 1:00 p.m.

Lama Kunga Thartse Rinpoche kindly bestowed the empowerment of Green Tara at Ewam Choden on Sunday, 12/16.
This practice comforts, cures, and protects. Tara conquers fear and anxiety, and clears the way for the Dharma path to enlightenment to unfold.

Lama Kunga Rinpoche will guide the Chenrezi compassion meditation on 12/9/12 at Ewam Choden at 10:00 a.m.

COMPLETED–SINGHANATA EMPOWERMENT Sunday, 11/25/12 at 1:00 pm

Lama Kunga Thartse Rinpoche kindly bestowed the empowerment of Singhanata  (Lion’s Roar Avalokiteshvara). This practice cures secret Naga diseases and purifies non-virtuous karma, as it takes you on the path to enlightenment. Note that the time is as usual, which is 1:00 pm., a little while after the Sunday morning Chenrezi compassion meditation. Please arrive early in order to register, and as usual be considerate of our neighbors when parking. This event is open to everyone.   Requested donation for the empowerment is $30. Dana (offering) to the Lama is separate.

Completed–MEDICINE BUDDHA EMPOWERMENT on Sunday, October 28 at Ewam Choden

Lama Kunga Rinpoche kindly bestowed the empowerment of the Medicine Buddha (Sangye Menla) at Ewam Choden at 1:00 p.m. on October 28th. About thirty people attended and received this empowerment.
