It is with great sadness that Ewam Choden announces the passing of Wolfgang Saumweber.
Wolf succumbed to cancer this morning January 21st.
Wolf was a student of Lama Kunga Rinpoche and a great friend and supporter of our community. A dedicated dharma practitioner, he particularly benefited our Center by working with Lama Kunga Rinpoche on the editing of sadhanas. His elaborate and colorful layouts are now the standard for EC sadhanas.
Wolf also created and maintained Ewam Choden’s first website and generously established numerous Vajrayana websites
Wolfgang will be greatly missed.
We ask for your prayers to assist him during this transition, and may all the great works he performed bring benefit to him, his wife Linda, and his family.

SUNDAY MEDITATION CONTINUES

While Rinpoche is receiving medical treatments, we will still continue our traditional Sunday Chenrezig meditation, which will also include a brief Medicine Buddha recitation. Beginning at 10 a.m., these sessions will be lead by Rinpoche’s senior students. Click here for more info

On Sunday, November 20th, Lama Kunga Rinpoche will combine Ewam Choden’s regular Sunday meditation on compassion with our annual Memorial Prayers for the benefit of all our friends, relatives and countless beings who have passed away this year and in previous years. Everyone is welcome. You may bring tea candles or flowers to set up near the shrine. (Make sure you arrive a little earlier to do this.)

One of our dear members, Bill Stanton, has taken ill with ongoing complications with his back.
To help where we can, Lama Kunga Rinpoche will be hosting a Medicine Buddha practice
this Wed Dec 2, at 7pm.
Bill is a dedicated member of Ewam Choden for years, a past EC Board member and has been essential in our Treasure Vase production.
If you can’t make, the practice session, please keep Bill in your prayers and daily practices. And please email us if you want to be kept in the loop as to his care needs while he recovers.

Starting with the the Principal deity, Green Tara of the Sandalwood Forest,
21 Tara
the venerable Lama Kunga Rinpoche completed his week-long transmission of the rare Surya Gupta tradition of the 21 Taras. A steadfast group attended all empowerments, while some others received the first and last ones. After the completion by Lama Kunga Rinpoche, there was a unique musical presentation created by Anahata Iradah of Rinpoche’s recitation of the 22 Tara mantras (recorded in Hawaii) counterpointed by her own melodious voice singing them to instrumental music. Participants then enjoyed a tsok feast together.

Today, July 25th, is Lama Kunga Rinpoche’s birthday.
His Dharma students wish him a most happy and healthy birthday. We are grateful for his presence, his assorted teachings and empowerments, his kindness and guidance, and particularly for putting us on the Buddhist path and maintaining it.
Rinpoche, we prostrate to you, and thank you, and request you to remain with us for a long long time.

All joyful Lord of stainless being,

Lama Kunga Rinpoche is very happy that his recent health concerns have not upended his desire to transmit the entire sequence of the 21 Tara empowerments. This is such a unique opportunity. After transmitting this to a group of students in Hawaii last year, Rinpoche is excited to offer this series for the first time in the Bay Area, at Ewam Choden.
