Ven. Lama Kunga Thartse Rinpoche will lead the usual Chenrezig compassion meditation and, following tradition, there will be special recitations and prayers for Peace, Health, and Happiness for all Beings.
Come to meditation at 10:00 a.m. as usual, receive Rinpoche’s blessing, greet everyone for New Year, and enjoy sweet rice, Tibetan tea, and some special Losar snacks.

The starting time is 1:00 p.m. Please arrive early to register. The requested donation is $30. Dana (offering) to the Lama is separate. There is no prerequisite and everyone is welcome. A practice sadhana will be provided.
Miyowa, the Immovable One, is a wrathful protector who helps the practitioner remove all types of outer and inner obstacles, including diseases.

The empowerment begins at 1:00 pm. Please arrive early to register at the door.
There is a requested donation of $30. (Offering to the Lama is separate.)
A practice sadhana will be given, but the empowerment can be taken as a blessing. There is no prerequisite requirement or pre-registration.
This empowerment is open to everyone who has taken refuge and follows the Buddhist path.
The practice of Hayagriva can eliminate external and internal obstacles and problems, particularly those caused by demons and spirits. The empowerment of Hayagriva was originally received by Machik Trupai Gyalmo directly from Hayagriva. She transmitted it to Tipu Sang Nga Dongpo, who transmitted to Rechungpa. Rechungpa gave it to Milarepa who transmitted it to Gampopa and then the lineage was held by the Drigung Kagyu. Eventually it went through the Tsarpa Tradition, and then to the Sakya. From this, to Gelugpa, and all of the Tibetan Buddhist schools.

Kurukulle (Tibetan: rig che ma. English: The One of the Action Family) is magnetizing power. Her practice is one of the 13 Golden Dharmas of the Sakyapa. She may be called upon for her powers of enchantment to subdue those evil spirits, demon and humans working against the welfare of humanity and spiritual evolution. Also, her practice may be helpful for improving health, wealth, and spiritual energy. She brings a power of peacefulness, joy, and wisdom.

The Blue-jacketed Vajrapani is an uncommon practice in the Sakya tradition said to reverse negative forces and obstacles that are beyond the control of the practitioner, such as bad spells, curses, and ill wishes. This practice also helps to stop naga diseases, such as infectious blood diseases.

BEGINNING and CONTINUING TIBETAN LANGUAGE CLASSES
We are very happy to announce that Ven. Lama Kunga Rinpoche has kindly offered to hold another series of two different weekly classes in Introductory Tibetan Language, Reading and Writing.
Open to everyone, the classes start at the beginner level. There is also a continuing class for people who began last Fall or anyone with prior experience.
Handouts and practice sheets of the daily studies are provided at the classes.
LOCATION: Ewam Choden
TIME: 7:00 p.m. (to about 8:30 p.m.)
DAY: Tuesdays for Beginning and Wednesdays for Continuing
FEE: $20 per class, or one payment of $120.
Pre-registration isn’t required, but it’s a good idea to email your intention to attend.
THE BEGINNING CLASS will meet on the following Tuesdays:
2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26
THE CONTINUING CLASS will meet on the following Wednesdays:
2/20, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27
NOTE that there could be an unplanned change in a date, requiring an additional day to be set.
